Local Sightings is a film festival for the Northwest.

The premiere showcase of achievements in Northwest filmmaking has taken place annually since 1997, and happens this year October 1-7.

The festival includes feature film presentations, short film programs and special events with live film performances, installation art, audience participation and parties.  Included in every festival is an assortment of fiction, documentary and experimental films as well as a featured presentation of a historical regional film, and an opening party to ignite Seattle's film scene Friday night and keep it bleary eyed Saturday morning.
