Indigenous Showcase

Northwest Film Forum partners with Longhouse Media and National Geographic All Roads Film Project to present a monthly series showcasing emerging talents in indigenous communities. This exciting program shows how Native American and indigenous filmmakers are at the forefront of the industry, successfully establishing a dialogue and creating images that are challenging, changing long established cultural attitudes towards indigenous culture.


Two Cars, One Night (2003)
A story about two boys and a girl meeting in the carpark of a rural pub in Te Kaha, New Zealand.

Green Bush (2005)
An Australian short film about an Indigenous radio DJ who struggles to keep his community functioning.

Best Short Film - Berlin Film Festival '05

Crocodile Dreaming (2007)
Crocodile Dreaming is a film who tells a traditional Aboriginal story, similar to Ten Canoes. A stone holding the stories and songs of the ancestors has been stolen from its proper location and subsequently causes the death of two children. It must be found and brought back to restore the right order.
