Oct 17, 2015

Guy Maddin and his co-directors turn the "making of" documentary on its head (pun intended) with this characteristically zany and experimental inside-the-scenes look at the filming of Canadian army action movie HYENA ROAD. The ruminative film essay follows faux soldiers as they trek bumblingly across the Afghanistan desert, interjected by shots of Maddin lying prostrate on the ground, a dead extra, addressing the absurdity of the situation with distinctive existential queries.
