Q&A with Alison Holcomb, ACLU of Washington, and Matthew McCally, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, Friday 7pm screening

How ironic is the title of How to Make Money Selling Drugs? That’s for you to decide. This film compiles interviews from drug dealers, activists, artistic celebrities and prison inmates, to create a step-by-step guide to becoming the most profitable drug dealer you can be. Leaving no stone unturned, this documentary dares to explore the American drug trade from every possible social and economic standpoint, inviting the audience to use it as a “cookbook,” idiot’s guide, bizarre satire or frightening exposé. Again: you decide. Featuring 50 Cent, The Wire producer David Simon, Arianna Huffington, Woody Harrelson, Eminem and Susan Sarandon, as well as infamous drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross.

  • Join us at Friday's opening night 7pm screening for a Q&A with local experts Alison Holcomb and Matthew McCally. Alison Holcomb is the Drug Policy Director at the Washington ACLU and led the successful Washington state initiative to legalize marijuana. Matthew McCally is a former corrections official and now works/speaks on behalf of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition).

"Selling Drugs is important, and it covers a lot of ground, but it's also slick and entertaining. Go see it, and bring along a friend who might think "weed should totally be legal" but hasn't necessarily thought through the drug war as a whole. Those kinds of friends are the ones who need to see How to Make Money Selling Drugs." —Brendan Kiley, The Stranger

"eye-opening. . .full of useful insights from people who know the drug trade well" —Tom Keogh, The Seattle Times

"Strikingly clear-eyed about the allure of drug dealing, the rampant demand for illegal substances, the horrors of addiction, and the hypocrisy of government drug policy...with its calm focus and emotional wallop, its argument has rarely been so effectively rendered." –Screen Daily
