Nitzan Gilady’s first feature-length film spins a story of love, independence and... toilet paper. Although Hagit (luminously portrayed by Moran Rosenblatt) has mild mental disabilities, she yearns for love and harbors dreams of becoming a wedding dress designer. Her overprotective mother keeps her close, but her job at a toilet paper factory allows her freedom and even becomes a space where love blossoms with the factory owner’s son. The imminent closing of the factory threatens Hagit’s hopes for a life of her own and adds a melancholy twist to this tender story, sans any fairy tale sweetening.
“Director/scenarist Gilady demonstrates a deft, confident hand with the storytelling...a well-crafted, engaging drama.” -- Dennis Harvey, Variety
