About

** This project was supported, in part, by a grant from 4Culture. **

Remembering Our Mothers follows the legacy of how the murders of Susanna Blackwell, Phoebe Dizon, and Veronica Laureta mobilized the API Community in the Pacific Northwest, bringing together a community of women who began to provide grassroots resources for survivors of domestic violence. The story is told through Derek Dizon, Phoebe’s youngest son, collecting stories of healing, cultural connection, and community resilience in a journey to understand his mother’s death.

This program is a benefit and will feature a preview of the film, food, and performances, with the filmmaking team sharing where they are in the project and participating in dialogue with one another abound what this history means for them, as anti-violence organizers and healers in the community.
