This 2-hour session is for anyone—beginners or experienced writers—who love romantic comedies and want to write one of their own. Students will learn how to test an original idea, the “beats” that complete the story structure, and how to avoid the common pitfalls and tropes of the genre. We will use break-out rooms to enable participants to have small group conversations. Let us help you write your rom-com … because nobody puts rom-coms in a corner!

• How to craft a beat sheet to map out your rom-com
• How to strengthen your rom-com by avoiding common pitfalls
