(Zeinabu irene Davis, US, 1999, 93 min)
Inspired by a 1906 poem from African American writer Paul Laurence Dunbar, this unique drama shows the relationship between a Deaf woman and a hearing man in two parallel love stories, taking place in both the early 1900s and 1990s Chicago. Their stories explore aspects of Black culture and Black Deaf culture. Starring Michelle Angela Banks, an award-winning, pioneering Black Deaf actress.
