Hope

(David Ellington, UK, 27 min)

This moving short film is based on a true story. Hope is a fun-loving Deaf 17-year-old who enjoys partying and is planning for the next stage of her studies. When she is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, her world is turned upside down. How does she deal with her illness and the people around her, to leave her family and friends with a legacy of hope?

Topanga

(Aycil Yeltan, US, 15 min)

Gala, who is Deaf and homeless, lives in an abandoned old truck on a mountain road. Unbeknownst to her, the abusive man she had escaped has found her hiding place. One night, after a brutal attack, she finds the strength to stand up one last time and starts walking. She has no clue where her journey will take her, but it will change her life forever.
