Washington Filmworks (WF) is the private 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that manages the Motion Picture Competitiveness program as well as a diversity of resources for the creative industries in Washington State. WF mission is to create economic development opportunities by building and enhancing the competitiveness, profile and sustainability of Washington State’s film industry.

Kendra Ann Sherrill is the Production Services Coordinator at Washington Filmworks. She serves as the first point of contact for productions looking to film in the state of Washington, connecting them with the resources they need for a successful shoot!
Kendra is a Spokane native and ran the Spokane International Film Festival for nearly six years. She has worked on a variety of Washington State productions, from Captain Fantastic to Z-Nation and was recently the Senior Producer/Editor for the Emmy-award-winning television show Washington Grown. Her passion is making films for children and she currently is the Editor for the King County children’s television program Look, Listen, and Learn.

Local Sightings Film Festival 2020

Presented by Seattle’s Northwest Film Forum, the 23rd Annual Local Sightings Film Festival [Online] virtually showcases creative communities from throughout the Pacific Northwest. The 2020 program, which runs from September 18-27, features a competitive selection of curated shorts and feature film programs, inviting regional artists to experiment, break, and remake popular conceptions around filmmaking and film exhibition.

Local Sightings 2020 champions emerging and established talent, supports the regional film industry, and promotes diverse media as a critical tool for public engagement. This year’s festival also celebrates NWFF’s 25th Anniversary as an organization.
