OPEN CALL: Polaroids on Display for July 2019’s Capitol Hill Art Walk!

June 5, 2019
To accompany our July 19–25 screening run of Instant Dreams, a documentary on the chemistry, community, and legacy of Polaroid photography that we’re copresenting with Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW), we’re inviting local photographers to contribute their instant film photography work to a monthlong group gallery show this July in NWFF’s Stairwell Gallery. If anybody you know works in this medium, whether as an amateur/hobbyist or in a professional capacity, please share the news! An opening event for the show will be held during Capitol Hill Art Walk, July 11th, from 5pm to 8pm.

Selected photographers may submit up to 5 photos of any instant film stock (Type 600, Instax, Type 100 packfilm; anything goes!). Digital submissions of scanned instant prints will also be accepted, and will loop on the adjacent monitor in the gallery. Artists may submit through this Google Form. Email Communications Manager Paul Siple and Executive Director Vivian Hua at paul@ and vivian@nwfilmforum.org with any questions about the show or submission process! The submission period will remain open through the end of June.

No honorarium is available to award to featured photographers, but each will receive free admission to a screening of Instant Dreams of their choice, and artists are welcome to post their contact info in the gallery for potential sales.
