Fiscal Sponsee – Vanishing Seattle
Vanishing Seattle documents the displaced and disappearing institutions, small businesses, and cultures of Seattle – often due to gentrification and development. They are producing a short film series to dive deeper into these stories. Each short film will focus on the neighborhoods, institutions, and characters that give Seattle its soul, and will be distributed via Vanishing Seattle platforms as well as community screenings and events.
Your tax-deductible donation will support this project along with the teams of local filmmakers that Vanishing Seattle is working with. Thank you!
“Vanishing Seattle unabashedly calls out classism, and gives voice to the people it negatively affects. … interviewees feel [Capitol Hill is] less of a safe space now – there are so many unfamiliar faces and places on the Hill now that creatives and queer people no longer feel accepted or have the same connections.” – Maia Demar, TeenTix Newsroom Writer, “Culture-Crushing Gentrification in Capitol Hill“
