Animation is everywhere; in classic Disney fairytales, quirky Aardman comedies, and dynamic Pixar blockbusters. But how do you make an animated movie? In this talk, you’ll find out how the animation students on the BA (Hons) Animation Production course at the Arts University Bournemouth, UK, learn to do just that. Look at the key aspects of the curriculum and activities that students engage with during their three years on the course, taking them through the process of animation production and culminating in their graduate animation projects.

This will be followed by a demonstration of the 2D animation software ToonBoom Harmony, used in the course. For more info on Arts University Bournemouth, visit: https://aub.ac.uk/courses/ba/ba-animation-production/

Anne Terkelsen

Anne is currently the Production Manager at the BA (Hons) Animation Production Course at the Arts University Bournemouth. Her passion has always been in the developmental stages of production, especially concept art. The bulk of her artwork is personal work.

She hopes to one day have digital painting be her main job, with teaching on the side.
