Full-day workshop! December 16, 10am-5pm.

Age Range: High school students (or ages 14-18)

Takeaways is an ongoing series of youth workshops with a focus on editing tools and techniques.

In this full-day workshop, students will get an introduction to documentary storytelling techniques and editing in Adobe Premiere. Instructors will guide students in an exploration of the neighborhood around Northwest Film Forum, teach them how to use professional filmmaking equipment and editing workflows for crafting inspired stories.

Experience level: Beginner to intermediate. If you are new to editing and Adobe Premiere, this is a great introduction. If you’re more experienced, we will provide instruction to your level and questions throughout the project.
Equipment and Software: All equipment and software provided. Editing will be done in Adobe Premiere.

Instructors: Jamil Suleman and Aaron Jacob

Jamil Suleman is a rapper, performer, and filmmaker from Seattle, WA, and the Co-Founder of Indie Genius Media. Part of the brains behind the Graffiti Village Tour, Jamil uses his creative, funny and entertaining storytelling ability to uplift people and inspire positive change.
