About

** Limited space on Zoom; register early! **

Join us for a conversation about the impact and process of casting transgender characters with Elayne Wylie. The casting process should start in the conceptualization and writing, with an understanding of the history of representation in the medium. Panelists will explore the nuances of decisions filmmakers have to make throughout the writing and production process, and the impact of these choices on actors, productions, and audiences. Isabel Sandoval, director and lead actress of Translations 2020’s opening night film, Lingua Franca, will be in attendance!
