NWFF patrons will be required to wear masks that cover both nose and mouth while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. We are not currently checking vaccination cards. Recent variants of COVID-19 readily infect and spread between individuals regardless of vaccination status.

Northwest Film Forum and Black Sun Lit present an AWP offsite event: a NoMaterial Symposium where Carlos Lara and Brian Amsterdam (Ceremonial Abyss), plus some of their current friends take over the NWFF lobby with spontaneous readings, a mini-lecture, and noise overall.


Bios:

Brian Amsterdam

Brian Amsterdam

Brian Amsterdam (Ceremonial Abyss) is an ambient, hardware and techno producer based in the Northwest. Brian and Carlos Lara have an ongoing collaboration as poet and sound sculptor.

Losarc Raal

Losarc Raal is a writer and editor originally from Varna, Bulgaria. He is the author of the chapbooks: [SELF-SELECTIONS] (Trainwreck Press, 2021), The Poetry of Carlux Carluxlax (Reverse Catfish, 2022), and The Adverse Keys (Spiral Editions, 2022). A pamphlet, Dead or Alive (The Creative Writing Department), was published in 2022. He was tyrant over the poetry and arts journal NOMATERIALISM (2020–2022). He is currently composing a book of prose poems entitled NOTHING. He has lived in Brooklyn, Greece, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia, and he currently resides with his wife and sons in Los Angeles, CA.
