Was 2021 a sh*t show for you too? ‘Cause it was for us! This year, LRP is hosting The Black Trans Comedy Showcase in June with the goal of centering PRIDE programming around joy, comedy, clapping back, and Blackness. Three Black Trans PNW comedians will be gracing the stage at Northwest Film Forum on June 22nd, 2022: Mx. Dahlia Belle (PDX), Mitch Mitchell (SEA), and Chocolate the Entertainer (Olympia), plus fabulous drag queen host Moltyn Decadence (SEA). It’s gonna be a Ki! There will be raffle prizes, nibbles, drinks, and community. So bring your plates because this ROAST is going to be HOT!

All tickets and donations will benefit Lavender Rights Project’s ongoing programming supporting Black Trans Liberation. Even if you cannot attend, your monetary support is appreciated.

Mx. Dahlia Belle is a writer, comedian, sometimes model, and accidental activist based in Portland, OR. Her work has been published in The Guardian, The Stranger, and Portland Mercury. She has been a repeat guest on NPR, CBC, and XRAY FM. Live performances have included The Moth, Mutiny Radio, NW Black Comedy Festival, All Jane Comedy Festival, and Portland Queer Comedy Festival – of which she was also an associate producer.

From Washington, D.C., Chocolate is a blue collar comedian, rapper, artist, critical theorist, and most importantly an entertainer based out of Olympia, WA.

Mitch Mitchell is a trans/queer comedian and story teller originally from San Diego, California. Shortly after moving to Seattle in 2014 he face-planted into the stand up comedy scene. Mitch regularly appears as a feature on local showcases and open mics in the Seattle area, and has performed for fundraising events for the Gender Alliance of South Sound, and other Puget Sound LGBTQ+ organizations. He has also featured as a story teller on Slant Stories, and the Bawdy Storytelling Podcast. He won Queer Space Magazine‘s Funniest Queer Competition in 2019, and has performed at the HaHa Harvest Festival, Pensacola Pre Pride Comedy Festival, and the Upper Left Comedy Festival.
