Acclaimed Seattle video and performance company zoe | juniper will activate both theaters and the lobby with a multidisciplinary event following their latest work, Clear and Sweet, performed at On the Boards and venues across the U.S. Clear and Sweet 360 will combine 2D and VR screenings, sacred harp singing, and discussions about artistic creation based in virtual reality.

Panelists include Steven Schardt, Lacey Leavitt, Kim Voynar, Daryle Conners, Laura James, Tifa Tomb, Tracy Rector, Aaron Rhodes, Zoe Scofield, Sandy Cioffi, and Dayna Hanson.

All the 360 films presented will be available on Samsung Gear VR headsets for individual viewing. Relax in a comfortable rotating chair while you explore new 360 worlds. Attendees will be asked to return to the cue for other viewings after seeing a piece.

IRVR

Charles Tonderai Mudede and Ahamefule J. Oluo | Seattle, WA. | 21 min.

One day in fall, the Seattle jazz trumpeter Ahamefule Oluo decided to feed people Nigerian food at his house and then perform music with his band Industrial Revelation. Seattle food critic Angela Garbes helped him make the food, and the filmmaker and writer Charles Mudede and film producer and virtual reality activist/educator Steven Schardt helped him make a VR film about the event. We decided to call it “IRVR.” We hope you enjoy the experience.

Auto

Steven Schardt | Seattle, WA. | 11 min
Northwest Premiere!

In the very near future, as self-driving taxis are becoming the norm, ‘safety drivers’ are employed to simply sit in the front seat, as a measure of comfort to passengers. But Musay, an Ethiopian immigrant driver with 40 years of experience, is not content to merely sit, and insists on driving. When he picks up a couple accustomed to the automated service, their frustration with Musay’s driving turns a routine ride into a microcosm of power dynamics and control in this new, imperfect economy.

Fake Mercy

Cory Mcabee | Seattle, WA. | 3 min
World Premiere!

Join in on the fun with this 360 VR music video.
