CFFS 2022 – Jackie & Oopjen (Ages 8+)
In-person screening: Feb. 14 at 7pm
To accommodate evolving public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we are using a hybrid virtual-and-in-person festival model in 2022. There are three categories of festival pass: VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person), all available here. Vaccination and DOUBLE-masking are required for NWFF patrons!

Jackie, 12, has made the Rijksmuseum her second home, since her mother works there. While Jackie wanders the museum after hours, Oopjen Coppit (from Rembrandt’s famous painting) suddenly appears in front of her; she’s looking for her long-lost sister. Used to solving other people’s problems, Jackie decides to take her home, so they can go look for her sister. For Oopjen, a woman from the Golden Age, the 21st century is a big adventure.
CW: In Jackie & Oopjen, the character Oopjen (who is of age) drinks beer throughout the film to quench her thirst. It is explained that since her character is from the 17th Century, she believes beer is safer to drink than water.
