CFFS 2022 – Promise to the Planet Environmental Shorts (Ages 11+)

Virtual Screenings:

In-Person Screenings:
Feb. 13 at 5pm
Feb. 19 at 3:30pm

To accommodate evolving public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we are using a hybrid virtual-and-in-person festival model in 2022. There are three categories of festival pass: VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person), all available here. Vaccination and DOUBLE-masking are required for NWFF patrons!

This collection of animated and live-action films explore the beauty of our Earth and emphasize the importance of taking care of our natural home.

Filmmaker Sherene Strausberg will be in attendance at Feb 13 screening.

FAQ: How do I watch online?
  • Purchase your ticket through Northwest Film Forum’s Eventive virtual cinema. A free Eventive login is required.
  • From the Eventive virtual catalog page, purchased tickets will appear under “My Content Library” under your user menu (upper-right). From the Eventive festival landing page, they will appear under “My Tickets” on the site’s menu bar (at top).

  • Purchase your ticket through Brown Paper Tickets; come to the show!

  • If you have purchased a Hybrid or In-Person-Only Festival Pass, we’ll be able to look you up at Will Call by the name you purchased under.

For the sake of public safety, NWFF patrons ages 5+ will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination and to double-mask while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them.

A shipwrecked girl washes ashore on what at first seems to be a paradisaical desert island. After waking up, she explores the island and discovers that it is heaped with garbage. The tide is dragging tons of plastic to the shore, contaminating local habitat; she cannot turn a blind eye.

Kāhuli (Beloved Hawaiian Land & Tree Snails), once adorned native Hawaiian Forests abundantly. Over 750 species were documented through chants & folklore. Legends proclaim these tiny jewels would whistle, trill & chirp. Today less than 40 species survive.
