** Local Orson Welles scholar and actor Erik Van Beuzekom will introduce this screening of The Third Man! **
This screening is in support of Erik Van Beuzekom’s performance of the one-man show Rosebud: The Lives of Orson Welles at the Third Man Museum in Vienna on May 5th and 6th, 2018.
“Pulp novelist Holly Martins travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, black-market opportunist Harry Lime—and thus begins this legendary tale of love, deception, and murder. Thanks to brilliant performances by Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, and Orson Welles; Anton Karas’s evocative zither score; Graham Greene’s razor-sharp dialogue; and Robert Krasker’s dramatic use of light and shadow, The Third Man, directed by the inimitable Carol Reed, only grows in stature as the years pass.”

Erik Van Beuzekom
This screening is in support of Erik Van Beuzekom’s performance of the one-man show Rosebud: The Lives of Orson Welles at the Third Man Museum in Vienna on May 5th and 6th, 2018. The show is written by Mark Jenkins.
Erik has performed Rosebud over 60 times, in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Woodstock, Illinois at the Orson Welles 100th Birthday Celebration. The performance in May will also be a birthday celebration performance; May 6th would have been Welles’ 103rd birthday.
“I’m always in awe when I see a one-man (or woman) show… Van Beuzekom channels Welles very confidently and charismatically … brilliantly captures the essence of Welles’s restless creative spirit, and his mercurial genius.” – Mike Teal, Wellesnet
