Northwest Film Forum Announces 4th Annual ACTION! Narrative Apprenticeship Program
Seattle, WA – An initiative started by Northwest Film Forum (NWFF) in 2022, ACTION! Narrative Apprenticeship Program (ACTION!) is now celebrating its fourth year. Modelled after the Forum’s Remove the Gap Apprenticeship Program (RGPRO), this program is geared towards BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and artists living with a disability for whom on-set experience on narrative film sets has historically been difficult to access at intermediate and professional levels.
“ACTION! has become one of our signature programs, and really embodies the vision we have for the Forum and the impact that we hope to have in the community,” says Derek Edamura, Executive Director of Northwest Film Forum.
With support from incredible partners like Butler Family Foundation, Vogt Family Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Norcliffe Foundation, Northwest Film Forum is able to pay all of its apprentices, mentors, actors, and artists to come together and collaborate on a collective, creative vision.
“It is so important that this program is free to apply, and provides significant stipends to everyone that participates. Without our partners we would not be able to equitably compensate all of the artists and filmmakers that participate in the program and have made it so successful,” says Derek.
Applications are now open, and will close on May 5th, 2025. For more information visit our ACTION! page for more information.
