NWFF Winter Break
About
It’s been quite the year, and our staff needs a couple of weeks to hibernate and prepare for what 2026 has in store for us all! In order to make that happen, Northwest Film Forum will be closed for screenings from December 15th to January 5th. We’ll all be around in some form or another, but for now, our screens are dark (for the most part 😉).
In the meantime, here are some screenings and events happening around town while we’re closed to scratch your movie-going itches.
- It’s A Wonderful Life (1946), screening by The Grand Illusion at Northwest Film Forum Dec 18-24
- Gremlins (1984) at The Beacon Dec 12-18
- Fanny and Alexander (1983) at The Beacon Dec 24
And when we return, we’ve got a full plate of films for you to start the year off right, including some returning favorites and brand new releases…
- 2025 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour, playing Jan 7-22
- 2025 Sundance Film Festival Indigenous Film Tour, playing Jan 7-22
- Mourning Sickness Vol. 4: SHOWGIRLS, now playing for TWO NIGHTS Jan 17 & 18
- Peaches Goes Bananas, playing Jan 24-Feb 1
And much more to be announced 🤭
Thank YOU for helping to make 2025 one of the best years for The Forum in recent memory. None of this would be possible without the support of Seattle’s voracious filmgoing community, and we’re looking forward to seeing you in the theater even more in 2026.
Ticketing, concessions, cinemas, restrooms, and our public edit lab are located on Northwest Film Forum’s ground floor, which is wheelchair accessible. All doors in Northwest Film Forum are non-motorized, and may require staff assistance to open. Our upstairs workshop room is not wheelchair accessible.
We have a limited number of assistive listening devices available for programs hosted in our larger theater, Cinema 1. These devices are maintained by the Technical Director, and can be requested at the ticketing and concessions counter. Also available at the front desk is a Sensory Kit you can borrow, which includes a Communication Card, noise-reducing headphones, and fidget toys.
The Forum does NOT have assistive devices for the visually impaired, and is not (yet) a scent-free venue. Our commitment to increasing access for our audiences is ongoing, and we welcome all public input on the subject!
If you have additional specific questions about accessibility at our venue, please contact our Director of Exhibition at cole@nwfilmforum.org. Our phone number (206-329-2629) is voicemail-only, but we check it often.
Made possible due to a grant from Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, in partnership with Sensory Access, our Sensory Access document presents a visual and descriptive walk-through of the NWFF space. View it in advance of attending an in-person event at bit.ly/nwffsocialnarrativepdf, in order to prepare yourself for the experience.
NWFF patrons will be strongly encouraged to wear masks that cover both nose and mouth while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. Recent variants of COVID-19 readily infect and spread between individuals regardless of vaccination status.
