On Friday night, we’ll be screening short films from around the region, the country, and the world, including films from Portugal, Lebanon, Australia and Hungary.

On Saturday afternoon, we’ll revel in films from around the world and right here at home, films that include direct animation, hand-coloring, scratching on film, eco-processing and in-camera mattes.

Expanded Cinema Performance with Live Sound
Takes place at LoveCityLove (1406 E. Pike St., two blocks from NWFF)

On Saturday night, we’ll interact with the LocaLoops craziness from the Olympia-based filmmaking collective Crackpot Crafters. Emerging from the ground unpredictably like mushrooms from mycelium, LocaLoops is an immersive manifestation of Crackpot Crafters’ direct animation gang. It’s a weird, wonderful, subversive, DIY, technologically dumpster-diving genre of cavemanic filmmaking presented via multiple projectors, using screens adapted from many materials and live sound accompaniment. Join us for this eye-popping event!
