Local Sightings 2015 – Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase: No False Note (Shorts Program)

$12 General Admission
$9 Student/Senior
$7 Member

Music and visuals have always been important for each other, and especially so in animation. It’s only natural that animation has become a sought-after medium for music videos, and that music often plays a crucial role in independent animated shorts. This program shows off some of the most intriguing and inventive music-based films to come out of the Pacific Northwest.

Curated by Tess Martin

In the Pacific Northwest we’re lucky to have an important history of independent animation, as well as exciting work being made today. But this talent often gets overlooked in the shuffle of general film festivals, or overshadowed by independent animation’s louder and more obnoxious younger brother, commercial animation. This series of programs scratches the surface of the distinctive and diverse independent animation that comes out of our region.
