Beginning in 1929—a crucial year in Salvador Dalí’s career and life, when he joined a surrealist group and met his muse and collaborator Gala—In Search of Immortality takes us up to the artist’s death in 1989. Through a look at the artist himself, his relationship to Gala and family, and a number of images and documents—some of them unpublished—the film brings us closer the immortal spirit of an artist who is a work of art himself.
