About
MIPoPS is back with fresh material from Seattle-area heritage organizations. From MIPoPS’s Rachel Price:
- We’ve got another EXTREMELY rare clip from Gay Camp Classics series (from Seattle’s Something Weird Video), courtesy of Scarecrow Video. This time it’s Les Boys (1970)
- Material from Bernie Whitebear, A Modern Warrior (2000) from the Seattle Channel and Seattle Municipal Archives
- Oral history, combined with stunning regional footage from the venerable Loghouse Museum/Southwest Seattle Historical Society
- Learning Lushootseed (1982), more from the Vi Hilbert (1918-2008) Collection (UW Ethnomusicology), Upper Skagit Elder dedicated to preserving the Lushootseed language, stories and traditions
- Big Red! Seattle Fire Department’s rustic and endearing animated fire hydrant strikes again! Educatin’ and dousin’ …
- AND Seattle Art Museum (an interview with a young Jeff Koons), UW Libraries Special Collections, King County Archives, and Seattle Mime Theatre
- and more, more, more!
Moving History is the quarterly archival screening night presented by Moving Image Preservation of the Puget Sound (MIPoPS) to showcase videotape digitized by local participating heritage institutions. Funded, in part, by grants from 4Culture and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
