Local Sightings 2016 – The Way We Talk
About
In this deeply felt, personal journey, we move through memory, support groups, speech therapy, and a chance meeting in Japan with a radical therapist to explore the ways that stuttering affects peoples’ lives. There is no revelation or cure in the story, just a movement towards being at peace with the fact that stuttering is hard, because life is hard, but also good, because life is good. On the verge of starting a family, the director asks himself how he would react if he heard his own children with the inheritable condition. What would he say to them?
