About
Get all your ducks in a row before embarking on your next documentary project!
In the first session, students will learn the nuts and bolts of a documentary’s pre-production process, which includes legal paperwork, budgeting templates, and best research practices.
In the second session, Elliat Graney-Saucke will take a closer look at each student’s project, to help them clarify their strategies and learn to think like a producer. Listening to feedback on a diversity of student projects will further enhance the future-producer’s perspective.
The knowledge and skills gained from this workshop will be helpful for all types of producers, directors, and small teams of documentary filmmakers who don’t have a large budget. Come with a particular project and questions in mind, or simply set a firm foundation for yourself.
The workshop is led by Elliat Graney-Saucke — President of the Seattle Documentary Association, documentary filmmaker, and producer.
