About

The Shadow Council is Seattle’s most dangerous unsanctioned legislative body. It’s a satirical forum hosted by Brett Hamil (of The Seattle Process). Expert Witnesses present findings on topics both local and national, and the Council submits proposed legislation, public comment, questions and complaints into the Democracy Bucket™.

We’ve got a pretty awesome agenda for the Sep. 15th Shadow Council,  with some formidable Expert Witnesses:

  • Filmmaker Sandy Cioffi will talk about civic cryptocurrency. What is it, how does it work, and can we get some of that?
  • Port Commission candidate Ryan Calkins will tell us what exactly a Port Commissioner is and what he plans to do if he wins
  • DREAMer and local journalist Agatha Pacheco will talk about her personal experience with DACA
  • PLUS the usual stuff: public comment via the Democracy Bucket™ and Brett will be proposing some legislation regulating substandard bagels.

JOIN US! This session will be in the smaller cinema at Northwest Film Forum due to scheduling so SPACE IS LIMITED.
