About
The first film in Dario Argento’s “Animal Trilogy,” The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, is Argentos’s directorial debut and first foray into the giallo genre that should not be missed on the big screen.
Sam Dalmas is an American writer living in Rome and is about to return to the US with his girlfriend Julia when he witnesses a black-gloved assailant attack a woman in an art gallery with a knife. The woman survives, but as he is a witness to what the authorities believe to be the work of a serial killer, the police take Sam’s passport, stranding him in Rome.
Deciding to help Police Inspector Morosini with the case, Sam becomes tangled up in the investigation that leads him into the back alleys of Rome. But soon Sam finds himself being stocked by the killer and must find a way to discover the murderer’s true identity to keep both himself and Julia alive.
