The darkly funny debut feature of director Kelly Reichardt, River of Grass follows Cozy, a dissatisfied housewife living in Florida. While at a bar one night she meets an aimless layabout named Lee and through a wild set of circumstances the two end up going on the run together. Reichardt describes the film as a “road movie without a road, a love story without the love and a crime story without the crime.”
