Local Sightings 2016 – Voyagers Without Trace
About
In 1938, three French adventurers came to the American west for a kayaking expedition down the wild white waters of the Colorado River–a feat that had never been accomplished. After stumbling upon this little known adventure, filmmaker Ian McCluskey embarks on a journey of his own, replicating the same route with a young couple to recapture the original esprit de corps. Stops along the way uncover more details about the original trip and the history of the river in the process. The film also includes rare photographs and color film of the original trio’s adventure along with excerpts from their written diaries.
