Little Bit Off: AWP Offsite Events at NWFF [In-Person Only]
About
Little Bit Off: AWP Offsite Events
On the occasion of the 2023 AWP Conference & Bookfair in Seattle, Northwest Film Forum presents four nights of offsite oddities and literary delights March 8–11.
These eight distinct programs offer opportunities to hear readings from outstanding authors, access your creativity in generative and reflective workshops, watch time-based literature, mingle at mixers (a poetry-inspired spirit!), and party close to the conference center, but just a little bit off the beaten path.
Not your usual AWP fare, the events taking place at the NWFF are almost all multimedia. Three incorporate literary video work, three prioritize movement through dance performance, workshops using the body to highlight non-traditional expressions of poetry, and three include music—Thursday closes out with a visiting DJ set, Friday ends with a dance party, and Saturday afternoon all bets are off during a NWFF lobby takeover including live music. Escape the conference center and come get lit at the Forum.
Also, Cadence Video Poetry Festival will be at the AWP Bookfair during the conference! We’ll be sharing space with 3rd Thing Press. Come by our table to say hi!
NWFF patrons will be required to wear masks that cover both nose and mouth while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. We are not currently checking vaccination cards. Recent variants of Covid-19 readily infect and spread between individuals regardless of vaccination status.
NWFF is adapting to evolving recommendations to protect the public from Covid-19. Read more about their policies regarding cleaning, masks, and capacity limitations here.
